Weekend Pictures

Heather, Kennedi, & I went snowshoeing up in Victor on Saturday. I like snowshoeing - I somehow need to get Jon into it so I have someone to go with down here.
Heather let me practice shooting maternity pictures. It made my day when I was able to figure out how to use indoor lighting (since I'm not rich enough to buy my own flashes). I think they turned out good without any fancy equipment.

I took pictures of the moon early Saturday morning because I liked how the frost looked on the trees. I was standing outside in my running shorts in 4 degree weather waiting for my 30 sec. shutter speed to take pictures. Then I checked my pictures & realized some where blurry because I was shivering so I had to go back out and retake some.

This past weekend Jon & I went to Wyoming with Marie & Ryan at Marie's cabin (cabin is an understatement) We snowmobiled on Saturday & I was too afraid to take my camera because Jon can be a little scary on the snowmobile. So, unfortunately I do not have very many pictures with people
Marie & I went on a walk to an old schoolhouse

Just some pictures of the inside.
Old Piano

The cabin was huge: 4 kitchens, 8 bedrooms/baths, big game room, and a theater room. It also had badays & I could tell when Jon used it because he walked out with a big smile on his face.

Here's Jon & Ryan watching the many football games in the theater room.

Some of the decor in the cabin

The cookies had nothing to do with this weekend. It was just my first attempt at making this kind of cookie and taking pictures of food.

Again - sorry for lack of pictures on the past weekend.

Christmas

This picture has nothing to do with Christmas but I like it so I posted it. If you look closely you can see the shell moving into the chamber. We tried to get a picture with the fire coming out the front (and we did get one) but I liked this one better.
I had the tree all decorated with blue and silver ornaments and then Jon came home and wanted black and red tree. So I had to go find black and red ornaments, take down the blue ones, and add the new ornaments. It was kind of a pain but whatever - it looked good afterwards.

I but a precious moments ornament every year. This year I couldn't find any ornament that was worth the money so thanks to eBay I found the Cinderella one and it was even cheaper than the ones I saw at hallmark. GO EBAY!!
We went to see the lights at Temple Square. I wanted to practice my night photography but I didn't bring my tripod and it was freezing outside so we didn't stay long. This is the best that I could do. Next year I will bundle up a little bit more.

Jon looks a little cold and irritated by the camera.

Happy Birthday Caddison

Monday is my niece's birthday (2 years old) but on Saturday we had a party that included games (potato in the bucket & a pinata) and great food. I do have pictures of my dad "cheating" on the potato game - Jon (who wasn't even there) noticed from the pictures I took. I think Wyatt doesn't like Tyson's scruff...
Pinata (I think Kennedi was the one how finally broke it)

Aubree had cute decorations for the party.

Trying out Large Group Photo Shots

I had the chance to practice on my "large group" picture taking skills (thanks Kay). I never realized how hard it is to get everyone to look at the camera at the same time - especially with little kids. Oh well - practice makes perfect right? The time of the day wasn't best either but I now know some tricks when the sun is blaring down on the camera so this opportunity was a great learning experience. I wish I could rewind and try again knowing what I know now but I still think they turned out great.

SLC Wedding

And here they are for the first time ever: MR. & MRS. LUKE...sorry just from the picture of Ryan makes it feel like some grand announcement needs to be made :)

Here's Ryan with his beautiful bride Marie. Such a perfect day warm, sunny, and perfect time to play with my camera. I like the bright sunny pictures and tend to overexpose my pictures because I personally feel it makes the pictures seem happier, warmer, and just an overall brighter mood.

Diego and Stefan in their suits (love the pinstripes). Stefan didn't want to pose so this was the best shot I could get.Grandpa and Caddison waiting for the bride & groom to come out and Wyatt wondering what is going on.

Kennedi was lucky and found an aunt to pull out her tooth (no - I was not the lucky one to do it...maybe next time)

Luke, Korbin & Sadie waiting

Picture of the dessert table. I like the single shot F/1.8 shots

Sadie was my little model. I have tons of pictures of her posing for me.

Pumpkin Carving

Jon & I carved pumpkins last night. Can you guess which one I did and which one was Jon's? Our finished product with the candles light. Can you see the ghost in the last picture (it was NOT photoshopped - I think Jon is haunting me)
